News Update

Season Seven is over, Christmas is upon us, and rumors about season eight are already floating about. First off, season eight will premiere on March 9, 2009 and will feature most likely thirteen or more celebrities. Unlike this past season where two couples left the first week, this season will feature two weeks of performances before the first elimination will take place.

Possible celebrities to compete on the show could be another *Nsync member, a model, and maybe a Disney Channel star. Some rumored celebrity participants include Nastia Lukin, Steve-O, Florence Henderson, Kellie Pickler, and "wait for it" Stevie Wonder. Heidi Klum has even stated that she would love to be on the show. Since there will probably be thirteen stars and an the first elimination on week two, then there will probably be one of three possibilities. One, they will add an extra week or two to the competition. Two, there will only be twelve stars instead of thirteen. And three, there will be like five people in the finals.

More news will be revealed in the coming months about all things Dancing with the Stars, season eight.

Disappointment

I'm just gonna say how disappointed I am with this season. I knew from the beginning that it would be a rough ride, but it seriously went down hill from there. Dance-wise, compared to past seasons, was the worst, and the judges were seriously wacked out. All I know is that if the show wants to keep it's momentum, then it better up it's game and not bring us celebrities just for the heck of it, give us stars who can actually dance. But this is just my opinion, what do you have to say about this season? Please comment on this article and tune in for soon more news.

It's the Final Countdown!!! (Week 10)

The end is near, the finalists have been chosen, and the rule book has been thrown out the window. America has chosen the final three, Lance Bass, Brooke Burke, and Warren Sapp, now it's time to choose the winner. But first, the stars must dance. Each couple dances a Samba face-off, and of course the no-hold-bars freestyle round. LIVE!!! This is the finals Dancing with the Stars!!!!!

The night started out with a recap of each couple's favorite Ballroom and Latin dance and the announcement of the winners of the ballroom kids competition. Brooke and Derek's favorite Ballroom and Latin dances were the Quickstep and Paso Doble. Lance and Lacey's favorite Ballroom and Latin dances were the Tango and the Mambo. Warren and Kym's favorite Ballroom and Latin were the Viennese Waltz and the Paso Doble. And finally, the winners of the season seven ballroom kids competition is Craig and Samantha.

First up for the night was the Samba face-off in which each couple participates in, almost like last season's Cha-cha. This a chance for the viewers to compare each couple side by side. Starting out the routine was Brooke and Derek with some classic Samba moves, and her incredible hip action. Second up in the Samba Smack-down was Lance and Lacey with some new tricks that have never been seen on Dancing with the Stars, or any where else. Last up was Warren and Kym with some hip movement we are used to seeing from the athletes. The judges thought it was a fun filled performance, but why can't they agree on anything.
Brooke & Derek, Lance & Lacey, Warren & Kym
Dance: Samba Face-Off
Song: "Blame It On the Boogie" by The Magnets
Brooke's Score: [Carrie Ann 9/ Len 9/ Bruno 10] = 28
Lance's Score: [Carrie Ann 9/ Len 8/ Bruno 9] = 26
Warren's Score: [Carrie Ann 9/ Len 7/ Bruno 9] = 25

First up in the Freestyle round was Host and Model Brooke Burke and her partner Derek Hough. Last week Brooke received her lowest score ever, and landed in the middle of the pack. This week, she attempts to regain her top spot with a brand new totally risky freestyle. The judges thought that she was the one that we all want.
Brooke & Derek
Dance: Freestyle
Song: "You're the One That I Want" from Grease
Score: [Carrie Ann 10/ Len 10/ Bruno 10] = 30
Total: 28 + 30 = 58

Second up in the Freestyle round was *N Sync star Lance Bass and his partner Lacey Schwimmer. Last week, Lance took home his highest scores and the top spot, but that just means all the more pressure. This week, he's setting his sights on that mirror ball trophy, and he plans to win it with his trick filled Freestyle. The judges thought it was youthful, vibrant, exciting, and tri tri tri tricky.
Lance & Lacey
Dance: Freestyle
Song: "It's Tricky" by Run D.M.C
Score: [Carrie Ann 9/ Len 9/ Bruno 9] = 27
Total: 26 + 27 = 53

Last up for the night was Super Bowl Champion Warren Sapp and his partner Kym Johnson. Everyone knows that the athletes are always awesome in the freestyle round because they can throw their partner around like a toothpick. Can Warren keep up with the fast pace of the Freestyle round? The judges thought it was very entertaining, but he Carrie Ann saw a mistake.
Warren & Kym
Dance: Freestyle
Song: "Proud Mary" by Tina Turner
Score: [Carrie Ann 9 / Len 10 / Bruno 9] = 28
Total: 25 + 28 = 53

There you have it, the finals. Don't forget to tune in tomorrow night to see the past stars, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and vote for who you want to see win Dancing with the Stars, Season Seven.

Dancing with the Stars vs. The Mentalist (Week 9 Results)

Tonight, I am multi tasking. I'm watching the Dancing with the Stars result show and watching The Mentalist on CBS. Leslie, I'm doing this for you.

Last night, Brooke stumbled, Lance soared, and Cody landed in last place yet again. Tonight, a bundle of musical guests perform along with the ballroom kids, and of course someone goes home. LIVE!!! This is Dancing with the Stars!!!!!

In the first hour of the two hour block, there was a recap of the previous night and the finalists in the ballroom kids competition competed for the title and the ballroom kids mirror ball trophy.

First up in the final round of the ballroom kids competition was Kirill and Hannah with a little help from Tony Dovalani. They danced a Cha-cha-cha to "Get Ready" by The Temptations which the judges thought was truly fabulous.

Second up to dance was Mitchell and Maria with help from Julianne Hough, they are so lucky. They danced a Samba to "Mas que Nada" by Sergio Mendes ft. Carlinhos Brown and the judges thought it was a power Samba.

Last up to dance in the ballroom kids competition was Craig and Samantha with help from Maksim Chmrkovskiy. They danced a Jive to "Rockin' Robin" by Michael Jackson and the judges thought their dance was truly fantastic.

And now I'm multi tasking because the Mentalist is on right now.

Aretha Franklin performed her hit "Chain of Fools" along with Karina Smirnoff, Anna Trebunskaya, Louis van Amstel, and Dmitriy Chaplin.

Leaderboard for the Week:
4th Place: Cody & Julianne
2nd Place: Brooke & Derek
2nd Place: Warren & Kym
1st Place: Lance & Lacey

Leona Lewis performed her number one mega-hit "Bleeding Love" along with Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff. I love this song, that's all I have to say about that.

Julianne Hough performed her country hit "My Hallelujah Song" along with Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, and Lacey Schwimmer. I love Julianne; I love this song, that's all I have to say about that.

Aretha Franklin performed her hit "Respect" along with reigning champions Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas. I'm so happy to see them back in the ballroom, it feels like just yesterday I was watching them kicking butt and taking names.

Grammy Winning artist John Legend performed "Green Light" while he was surrounded by all of his beautiful dancer girls.

1st Couple Safe: Lance & Lacey
2nd Couple Safe: Brooke & Derek
3rd Couple Safe: Warren & Kym

Cody and Julianne were eliminated and they will not be competing in the finals. However, Warren & Kym, Brooke & Derek, and Lance & Lacey still have a shot to earn the title of Dancing with the Stars champions. Tune in next week for the finals of Dancing with the Stars. The Mentalist is a pretty good show too.

The Semi Sweet Finals (Week 9)

Last week, each couple performed two routines, some soared, and some bored. Maurice ran out of steam and Brooke remained at the top of the leader board. This week, each star must show their showmanship, technique, energy, and flair in two new routines to prove they are worthy of the finals. And Julianne is back, hallelujah. LIVE!!! This is the Semi-Finals of Dancing with the Stars!!!!!

Round #1

First up for the night was host and model Brooke Burke and her partner Derek Hough with the Jive. Last week, Brooke finished out on top yet again, but now she needs to put a little more wow in her dances so she can make it to the finals. It definitely wasn't her best dance and the judge's agreed, and there was a lift.
Brooke & Derek
Dance: Jive
Song: "House is Rockin" by Brian Setzer Orchestra
Score: [Carrie Ann 7/ Len 7/ Bruno 7] = 21

Second up to dance for the night was Hannah Montana star Cody Linley and his appendix-less partner Julianne Hough with the Paso Doble. Last week Cody came in last place for the second week in a row, this week he wants to prove he's a good dancer worthy of the finals. Their Paso was almost like the bride of Hitler meets Saving Private Ryan, there were some explosions, but it got a 10 for determination.
Cody & Julianne
Dance: Paso Doble
Song: "Le Disko" by Shiny Toy Guns
Score: [Carrie Ann 8/ Len 7/ Bruno 7] = 22

12

Third up to dance with the first Mambo of the night was Super bowl champ Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson. Last week, Warren got a ten, and this week Warren's practicing his dances while working in Philadelphia doing "Inside the NFL", but can he prove he's worthy of the finals? The judges thought his Mambo was okay, but he needs to up his game if he wants to be in the finals.
Warren & Kym
Dance: Mambo
Song: "Abril en Portugal" by Perez Prado
Score: [Carrie Ann 8/ Len 8/ Bruno 8] = 24

Last up in round one was *N Sync star Lance Bass and his partner Lacey Schwimmer with the Mambo. All season, Lance has been trying to prove he's a good dance, now he needs to prove that he's the one to win it all. Their Mambo was hot, spicy, and practically perfect in Carrie Ann's eyes.
Lance & Lacey
Dance: Mambo
Song: "Straight to Number One" by Touch and Go
Score: [Carrie Ann 10/ Len 9/ Bruno 9] = 28

Len's Masterclass

Len's goal was to isolate each couple's problems and help them perfect their dances. Len helped Lance straighten out his pigeon toes, he helped Cody loosen up his hips, he helped Brooke nail her leg action, and he helped Warren un-flatten his feet. If each star can work out their little problems, then this will be a semi-final to remember.

The Salsa Round

29

Images from Dancing with the Stars/ABC.com

First up in round two was Brooke & Derek returning with their Salsa. Brooke's Salsa was hot, steamy, and the largest gap between scores in a single round. The judges thought it was a true champion's Salsa that should be in the finals.
Brooke & Derek
Dance: Salsa
Song: "Barbarabatiri" by Titio Puente
Score: [Carrie Ann 9/ Len 10/ Bruno 9] = 28
Total: 21 + 28 = 49

Second up in the second round was Cody Linley and Julianne Hough with the second Salsa of the night. Their Salsa was the more youthful and energetic out of the two danced but it still lacked the most. The judges thought it was a lot of fun, but to Carrie Ann it lacked some musicality.
Cody & Julianne
Dance: Salsa
Song: "Juventud de Presente" by Tito Puente
Score: [Carrie Ann 8/ Len 8/ Bruno 8] = 24
Total: 22 + 24 = 46

The Jitterbug Round

41

Images from Dancing with the Stars/ABC.com

First up for the night dancing the Jitterbug was Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson. Their Jitterbug was slightly slower that what it is probably supposed to be but all around pretty good. The judges thought it was truly entertaining, but it was still flat footed.
Warren & Kym
Dance: Jitterbug
Song: "That Old Black Magic" by Sammy Davis Jr.
Score: [Carrie Ann 9/ Len 8/ Bruno 8] = 25
Total: 24 + 25 = 49

50

Images from Dancing with the Stars/ABC.com

Last up dancing for the night was Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer with the Jitterbug. In round one Lance did an amazing Mambo, but did he disappoint in his Jitterbug, HECK NO! Their Jitterbug had all the joy of Gene Kelly and Ann Miller in On The Town and he threw a shoe.
Lance & Lacey
Dance: Jitterbug
Song: "Jim Dandy" by Black Oak Arkansas
Score: [Carrie Ann 10/ Len 9/ Bruno 10] = 29
Total: 28 + 29 = 57

And that's the semi-finals. Tune in for the result show to see Julianne Hough, Aretha Franklin, John Legend, Leona Lewis, the ballroom kids, and don't forget to vote for who you want to see in the finals.
